Brushing Our Teeth
We are part of the government funded Brush Bus Campaign to improve the health of children's teeth.
We should all be brushing are teeth twice a day. Research has shown that parents struggle most with the morning brush. So, the Brush Bus provides preschools with toothbrush holder 'buses' filled with toothbrushes for the children to use to brush their teeth.
The Brush Bus Campaign
All children who attend morning sessions are provided with their own, labelled, toothbrush (sanitised after each use) to brush their teeth every morning.
The Brush Bus Campaign continues to be a big success here - the children enjoy brushing their teeth in small peer groups, led by an educator, when they arrive at preschool each morning.
We also have regular visits from our local dental hygienist who comes in and provides fun, interactive sessions with the children on how and why we brush our
teeth.
